What is Shapewear?

Shapewear is a type of foundation garment that helps to smooth and shape the body. It can be worn under clothing, or as outerwear alone. Shapewear comes in many different forms, including corsets and camisoles; however, it's most commonly known as Spanx (the brand name) or control panties/briefs/shorts.

Shapewear has many benefits: it can make you look slimmer by smoothing out bumps and bulges; it can help improve posture by lifting up sagging areas such as breasts or stomachs; and it provides some support for weak backs while wearing high heels!
There are many different types of shapewear available on the market today--here are just a few examples:

History of Shapewear

Shapewear is a type of underwear that you wear under your clothes to give you a slimmer and smoother silhouette. It's been around since the '60s, but it's only recently become popular as a way to look good in clothes.
The Origins of Shapewear
Shapewear first appeared in the 1960s when women started wearing tighter clothing styles like mini skirts and dresses with low necklines. The first shapers were made from elastic materials like nylon or spandex so they could stretch over the body easily without being too tight or uncomfortable on sensitive skin areas like thighs or breasts (which can sometimes lead to chafing). Evolution of Shapewear
Over time, improvements were made on this original design--you can now find shapers made from cotton blends or microfiber fabrics that are breathable enough for long days at work but still provide support where needed most! Recent Developments in Shapewear

Types of Shapewear

There are many types of shapewear. The most common are bodysuits, waist cinchers and control panties. Bodysuits are tight fitting garments that cover the entire body from neck to ankle and provide support for your chest area as well as smoothing out any lumps or bumps on your tummy area. Waist cinchers help flatten your tummy by compressing it into a smaller space so that you look slimmer in clothes that you wear over it (if there is any). Control panties help smooth out thighs while also providing compression around the waist area to give an hourglass shape under clothes without showing off too much skin at once! High waisted shorts work well under dresses or skirts because they add structure without showing off too much leg through sheer fabrics like silk or chiffon materials - perfect if you want some extra confidence boost when wearing something sleeveless but still want coverage! Shaping leggings can be worn under jeans/pants/skirts etc., which helps smooth out bulges around hips while giving support throughout day long activities such as walking around town after shopping all day long :)
